A while ago, I decided that it would be a good idea to launch a newsletter. If you’d like some hints, tips and advice about doing things online for your small business, social enterprise or community organisation from somebody that knows about these things, sign up.
Claire’s ‘new newsletter’ is not exactly earth shattering news. Every man and his dog already has one, so why would you care about mine? I’m not a celebrity and I won’t be giving away expensive free gifts, so why am I bothering to tell you about it? The answer to that is that I think my newsletter will be genuinely useful for some of you. I also dare to think that some of you will find it interesting and maybe even entertaining.
Everything I do involves using digital in some way, so the content will be based on my skills, knowledge and experience as both a web developer and a digital marketer. I also wanted to make sure that I shared my knowledge in a way that reflects my experiences as somebody that has simultaneously ran a small business and a small charity without a dedicated marketing team, an IT department or any real budget.
The internet isn’t going anywhere, but unfortunately a lot of people aren’t able to make the most of it, because they don’t know where to start. Knowing what you should do, is no guarantee that you’ll actually do those things, especially when you’re busy and have dozens of other things on your to do list, but if you have all the time in the world and no idea what to do, that is usually a bigger problem. I hope that my newsletter will help you get started on a few things and hopefully stop a few of you doing things, that could potentially be harmful to your organisations. I haven’t always got things right over the years and I’m happy to share some of those mistakes with you, so that you can take advantage of not only my academic and professional knowledge, but also the lessons that I learnt the hard way (the stuff that people don’t usually share)
No jargon and no endless sales pitches. Just useful information that will help you learn what you need to know in order to make the most of your time online. Newsletter subscribers will be always be the first to see any new content and be offered early access to workshops or other training events in the future. Subscribers will also have the opportunity to influence future editions by sharing the topics they’d like me to cover. If you think this newsletter sounds useful, interesting or ideally both – sign up today.
